Arriving at Tambolaka airport, you will be met by our driver and guide. Firstly, we will escort you to check your hotel in Tambolaka area and then we will bring you to have lunch at the local restaurant nearby.

After enjoying your lunch, we will drive to Ratenggaro village at about ± 1 hour. In Ratenggaro village, you will see how the Sumbanese (local people) live in the traditional local house here, their houses are very unique compared to other traditional villages in Indonesia. Then, you still can see the stone age of the cemetery. One more thing, most of the people on Sumba island are Christians and they still keep the oldest style of the religion. But nowadays, some kids try to sell some souvenirs to visitors such as traditional necklaces and bracelets.

After enjoying this traditional village, we will escort you to Weekuri Lake. Weekuri/Waikuri lake is a salty lake in which the water comes out from the hole that connects to the Sumba ocean. In Weekuri lake you can swim or just play with the water here even if you can do cliff jumping into the lake, but we have to make sure that the water is deep enough. And lunch boxes will be served with our driver and guide there.

Afterward, we will drive for 5 minutes to get Mandorak beach, Mandorak beach is a small white sandy beach near Weekuri/Waikuri lake. You will be super amazed by this beach because it’s like a private beach with clear blue water and surrounded by a cliff. Even, when you are brave enough, you could jump from a cliff. After enjoying this area, we will go to Pero beach to see a wonderful sunset here. After sunset time, we will escort you back to your hotel, have dinner, and rest before we continue our next trip.

Starting the 2nd day with a new adventure is always a good idea when you are on Sumba island. The tour will start around 8.00 am from your Hotel in Waitabula area, we will drive around 70 minutes to Praijing village. Praijing village is one of the traditional villages in this area that still keeps the culture very well, even though their area is surrounded by globalization. In this village, you will be welcomed by the local people here who sell some souvenirs and other local people lives their local life.

After roaming around the village, we will continue our journey to the Lapopu waterfall, we will drive for about an hour. Along the way, you will see a green hilly area with some villages around where the local children will raise their hands and say hello to you. Upon your arrival in Lapopu waterfall area, you need to do short trekking for about 10 minutes bypassing the small path and bamboo bridge. There is a nice spot to sit down where you can watch the water find its way down the hill.

You can also bring your swimming clothes to take a dive in the water just in front of the big waterfall and cool down after a long day of adventure. After enjoying the waterfall, we will drive to Waingapu area for about 3-4 hours. If we have time we can see the sunset on the hill near the city.

Before we reach Waingapu town, we will stop over in Wairinding Hill for catching the sunset. A lot of spots where you can capture the best view into these hills are amazing. You will be looking at green (it changes to be yellow dried during dry season) and endless hills. Sit down during the sunset for a while in the grass and enjoy the moment here.

About 9 am after breakfast, we will drive to the beautiful hill where you can enjoy the amazing landscape that is divided by a single road that connects two villages, we will drive about an hour from our hotel. Using drones is highly recommended here because you can see the vast expanse of hilly terrains.
Note: You can also request an early visit to this hill such as sunrise.

After enjoying the hill, we have to move to our next destination, which is Waimarang waterfall. We will drive about 1h50m, it’s a long way but it’s worth it to visit. When you reach the area of the waterfall, you need to walk about 1km, it’s an easy walk.  The waterfall is not so high but it’s pretty cute, you can just swim around or relax and hear the nature surrounding.

Our next stop after the waterfall is Walakiri Beach, where you can watch the sunset with the mangrove trees around. We will drive for about an hour and before the sunset, you can sit at the beachside stalls and enjoy the coconut that the locals sell.

The fourth day of the trip will be such a long day but will be adventurous and wet, the trip will be started at 9 am after breakfast and we will drive for about two hours. Along the way, you will see the empty hilly road with some horses passing by and sometimes the kids or elderly carrying some woods for cooking.

Upon your arrival at the parking point, we will walk for about 20-30 minutes, the path to reach the waterfall is pretty slippery so please be aware of what you step into. But when you reach the waterfall, it pays off. You can swim and even jump into the water.

After enjoying the waterfall, we will go back to our car and continue our journey to Tenau/Tanau Hill where we can relax there and wait for the sunset.

On the last day of the trip, we would like to invite you to see the enchanting sunrise from Persaudaraan Hill, this hill is very close to the town and airport, it’s about 16 minutes drive from your hotel. We will start at about 5:30 am (more or less), and the sun will rise approximately at 6:12 am. Upon your arrival, you just need to walk a bit to get the viewpoint. From this viewpoint, you will see the small town of Waingapu, Sea and also the Airport moreover the vast expanse of ricefields with palm trees in between.

After having a good time here, you can walk back to our car and you can see some local houses with drier areas compared to the bottom of the hill. Next, we will go back to the town, we can directly visit the market or souvenirs shop where you can buy small things for your family back home. Afterward, we will go back to Hotel, and then we will transfer you to the Airport.
