Tour Plan
Day 1: Arrive At Waingapu - Manupeu Tanah Daru Forest - Langgaliru Forest - Lewa Forest
Welcome to Waingapu! The starting point of our Sumba Birding Adventure.
Upon arrival at the airport, meet and greet with our guide and we will begin the journey. We will drive to Lewa after lunch at local restaurant, the area where we will start our birding adventure. We will check in at homestay in Lewa first, and then we will go to Manupeu Tanah Daru Forest for birding.
Here you can expect to spot some endemic species such as Sumba Myzomela and Sumba Sunbird. After that, we continue to Langgaliru Forest and Lewa Forest for night birding. We will look for more endemic birds such as Little Sumba hawk-owl and Greater Sumba Boobok. Around 9 PM, we go back to the homestay and have dinner.

Day 2: Wundut Forest - Langgaliru Forest - Lake Kondamara - Billa Forest
Wake up early to start the morning birding at 05.30 am. Breakfast box will be provided. Today, we will go to Wundut forest and Langgaliru Forest. In the two places, you can expect to spot: Yellow-spectacled White-eye, Wallacean drongo, Little cuckoo-dove, Red-naped fruit-dove, Rainbow lorikeet, Brown-throated sunbird, and Black-naped Fruit-dove.
Next site will be Lake Kondamara where you may find cattle egret, grey heron, purple heron, great egret, Little egret, Javan pond-heron, and Little pied cormorant. After that, we go back to homestay for lunch, check out and then we will go to Billa forest. Here, you may expect to find: Sumba Hornbill, Tenggara Paradise-flycatcher, Thick-billed flowepecker. In the evening, we go to the accommodation in Billa to have dinner and rest.

Day 3: Birding In Billa Forest
You are halfway in this Sumba Birding Adventure!
Today, we will also wake up early to start the morning birding at 05.30am. We will go to other site of Billa forest to find: Sumba Brown Flycatcher, Cinnamon Banded Kingfisher, Sumba Myzomela, Sumba Flowerpecker, Sumba Sunbird, Helmeted Friarbird, Yellow-spectaled White-eye. Breakfast box is provided. After breakfast, we continue our trip to look for: Sumba Green Pigeon, Rusty-breasted whistler, Sumba Pitta, Indonesian Honey-eater, etc.
We go back to the accommodation for lunch and rest a bit. Around 2.30pm, we enter the forest again to look for: Spectacled monarch, Broad billed flycathcer, Arafura Fantail, Mee’s Nightjar, Greater Sumba Boobok, etc. At night, we go back to the hotel for dinner and rest.

Day 4: Billa Forest In Billa - Yumbu - Waingapu
Another early morning birding at 05.30am. We will go to other site of Billa forest look for: Tenggara Flowerpecker, Tenggara Paradise Flycatcher, Sumba Jungle Flycatcher, Chestnut-backed thrush, Sumba Flycatcher, Arafura Fantai, Spectacled Monarh.
Breakfast box is provided. Then we go back to the accommodation for packing and prepare our next hunting in Yumbu village. Here, you may expect to find Sumba button-quail as well as other interesting species. Lunch box will be provided. At night after dinner at local restaurant, we go to your hotel in Waingapu.

Day 5: End Of Trip
